World Views and Religions Day
On 22nd January we celebrated World Views and Religion Day. This term, our big idea focus is ‘Comparison.’
Across the school, children compared humanist views and discussed similarities and differences between their beliefs and those of others. Humanism is a worldview, not a religion, but a way of thinking and living. Humanists do not believe in God or gods. They believe that this is our only life, so living a worthwhile, happy life for ourselves and others is very important.
It was a day of exploration, discovery and encouraging the children to reflect on different views and beliefs. It was lovely to see the children develop their understanding and enrich their mutual respect and understanding of the diverse community and world we live in.
