Year 3 Charity Day
Supporting the Air Ambulances
On Wednesday 22nd May, Fran from Air Ambulance came to explain to the children all about the role of the Air Ambulances. She told them how important the service is and how much it relies on charitable domnations. One of our pupils told Fran about how the Air Ambulance had helped her dad. Fran also introduced to us the ‘name the helicopter’ competition. The winning school gets to name the new helicopter and a ‘fly over’ from the helicopter itself!
The children went away inspired and with their thinking caps on to come up with the best name they could. Each class will vote for the name that they want to suggest and then we will have a final vote for the name that we will submit as a school.
Year 3 also held a sponsored walk around the school field and a ‘Come to School dressed as your Hero’ Day to help raise money for this worthwhile cause.
Update: We were so pleased to present a cheque for a whopping £1520 to the Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex following our Year 3 charity day last term. This is a staggering contribution to the fantastic work they do and was gratefully received.
